Ann Demeulemeester / Fall 2010

Demeulemeester delivered characteristic edgy cool in this season’s menswear collection. For AW10 the Demeulemeester man is wearing black, black and more black (with the occasional flash of white or camel). The collection looked like it came from the closet of the lovechild of Russell Brand and Oscar Wilde. There were rockstar touches in the skinny fit pants, chunky urban boots and leather everything, and dandy flourishes in the wide pinstripes, sharp waistcoats and oversized military jackets. Demeulemeester’s greatest innovations came in the finishing touches. The trousers were made high and loose in the waist so that they had to be belted in, and the shirts were very much without ties.
